Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Completes Warrendale Expansion
New facility adds nearly 100,000 sq. ft. to its contiguous campus
WARRENDALE, Pa., November 7, 2007 — Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. completed its latest expansion effort with the dedication of its newest facility at 520 Keystone Drive in the Thorn Hill Industrial Park on November 7. A subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation of Japan, Mitsubishi Electric Power Products was incorporated in 1985 and has been based in Warrendale since 1989.
The company’s latest expansion adds nearly 100,000 sq. ft. to its campus, which includes production, testing and administration offices at 510, 512, 530 and 547 Keystone Drive.
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products supplies equipment and services for electric utility, water treatment and railroad industries, as well as uninterruptible power supplies and Diamond Vision™ stadium screens.
“This new facility will help us meet the increased market demand for our existing products and to grow new businesses with the support of our parent company in Japan,” said Mitsubishi Electric Power Products President/CEO Jack Greaf. “It also represents what can be achieved through the diligence, hard work and cooperation of our staff and local and state government agencies.”
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, through the Department of Community and Economic Development, supported the expansion with a $2.3 million financial package that includes an opportunity grant, tax credits for job creation, training assistance and low interest loans. Allegheny County also supported the project by assisting with the purchase of new equipment and training new employees.
Mitsubishi Electric Power Products expects to add jobs in all business areas with early emphasis on skilled technical, engineering, and project management positions.
